Meet Your Local Sleep Experts

Meet Bimmie, Sleep Clinician
I’ve been fortunate to work in the field of Respiratory Therapy for the last 20 years, in the areas of critical care, research, diagnostics and sleep. Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a focus to improve the quality of my patients’ lives. The world of “sleep” has always fascinated me, knowing how important it is to our health and well-being. At SnoreMD, I get to help my patients get the proper treatment they need to achieve better sleep and through that, I help to improve their lives – who wouldn’t love to do that!
On a professional level, I’m proud of my academic accomplishments. I hold two degrees from UBC (in Biology and in Education) as well as my formal training in Respiratory Therapy. I’m also thankful to have worked in lung cancer studies where I was named in research papers as a contributor, which was an amazing feeling! On a personal level, I couldn’t be more proud of my family – my husband and our three kids mean the world to me.

Meet Stephanie, Clinical Coordinator

Meet Shawn, Clinical Coordinator
I’ve always considered sleep to be a very important part of our lives that we often take for granted! I figured, what better way to spend my time than helping others improve their sleep?
I completed my studies at UBC and obtained my degree after several years of study. It was a challenging but rewarding experience.
My favourite part of interacting with patients is hearing their concerns and supporting them as they improve their sleep.

Meet Richard, Sleep Clinician/Regional Manager
My personal struggles with sleep are what inspired me to pursue a career in sleep medicine. As a Respiratory Therapist, and someone who still occasionally struggles with poor sleep, I understand the debilitating effects a lack of sleep can have on a person’s life; the toll it can take on one’s physical and mental health. I want to use my experience and knowledge to help others overcome their sleep difficulties and improve their quality of life.
I would have to say that raising my son has been the biggest accomplishment of my life. Being a new parent has been one of the most challenging but also most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. Watching him grow, watching him learn and watching him experience things for the first time has given me a different perspective on time. It has made me much more aware of my health than before. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to help others on their journey to better health and more time for their loved ones.
What I love most about working with patients is the sense of purpose and satisfaction it provides. Knowing that I have the opportunity to positively impact so many lives is reassuring and keeps that extra spring in my step.
